You have voiced a fear that many of us "ESL" writers share - see, my writing is not Americanized despite living here for so long - I feel that has its pros because my English is a weird mix of a variety of dialects and when used in the right way can appeal to a broad group of readers as opposed to just one group (just my experience but then again I'm a novice so there's that)
