Where I live, parents encourage (and pay out of their teeth) to make their kids try diff things from childhood - it doesn't matter they drop out midway or after a few classes - it is all chalked down to exposing them to diverse experiences

I don't comment - parents can be very defensive - anyways everyone would have a justification handy
