When was the last time I saw someone use cash for a transaction here?? Like never except for very small amounts - or perhaps at the grocery store but credit cards have largely replaced everything - I once heard someone who had moved here recently that they were willing to pay full price for a house in cash - they way they were talking it felt like they had a couple hundred thousand dollars lying around the house or something - I don't get how you can do these things without getting the IRS on you - but they were not from this country and I am thinking the rules about such things are lax wherever they came from
