Though I lived in Nigeria only for a brief period and that too when I was very young, I recall there was a lot of corruption and bureaucratic red tape that frustrated my parents - after coming here I was shocked to hear how some unsavory characters are spear heading the scams - a lot of ppl got swindles by the email scams
I rarely talk about my ethnicity - I talk about growing up in Africa and identify as an American but that’s how I prefer it
