This line jumped out at me - we are experiencing an epidemic of loneliness....and the sad thing is this is despite been globally connected

Each time we meet at church - they ask us to remember the elderly at homes and in old age facilities with no one to visit them

I was a volunteer companion at an old age facility - I used to go once a week for two hours to give an older lady companionship since she had no visitors...but then the pandemic hit and they suspended all such activities.... :(
