For views some suggest self promoting - some say utilize social media, join an FB group etc - if you ask me I would say I am having more fun interacting with fellow Medium writers and promoting other writers work there than trying to promote my stuff -

I'm rarely on FB but I maintain a LinkedIn presence for freelancing -
