This article resonated with me...while growing up we were given near free rein- with rules in place of course- of our neighborhood...gradually as the political climate in the country I grew up in began to change the restrictions increased and I started to see a lot hovering and monitoring by parents...

It can be suffocating for the kids but then again one can't ignore the heartbreaking headlines.
