I would say empaths are often misunderstood (especially in a relationship) and part of the reason is we don't communicate our needs well...it took a lot of learning myself to know the importance of communicating this in a relationship...It is also not fair to assume the SO will infer all of this on their own so I don't shy away about talking about being an empath anymore...
