Well, I won a minor beauty pageant when I was 18 - on hindsight the questions were ridiculous - but how was I to know it had no bearing at all in how the real world works - I mean I got the crown and a huge bouquet of flowers and so nothing else mattered - right?

Wrong

Once something like that happens you'd think you will be happy - not at all - it is insane the things you do to maintain the pretty status quo and then ppl want to be close to you, date you or even marry you because of that - not because of who you are and that is not good nor the basis for successful relationships

Water under the bridge

I wear a mask on my profile pic - I encourage my readers to know the person through my words...and they do which I am grateful for but even then there are those who assume that I do well due to something more than just my writing...oh well
