okay - here's my perspective - I grew up in South Africa (during apartheid) - I am neither white nor black so we were a small minority that had our fair share of racism from the other two - I left when I was quite young so not sure whether things have changed - those days it was deeply ingrained so am hoping with the newer gens things are much better
You've lived here - you know how this city is like - where I live, I am again a miniscule minority - the racism is veiled but pretty common - sad considering we have some of the premier educational institutions here - -I would say it is a choice
