Oh my goodness!! I am so sorry to hear this - am I surprised? No - because in my culture as well, light skinned ppl are highly preferred....in my family my mother is fair skinned but my father is not - I am more of a mix veering towards the lighter side - yes, ppl are even treated better if you are lighter skinned 🤷‍♀️
