…ptive family would share memories of my brother’s infancy and early childhood while I sat silently. Do you know how hard it is to listen to everyone fawn over your sibling while you’re left on the sidelines? No one wanted to talk about my early childhood. It was too dark and dubious and would tarnish the “adoption is so great” story they’d fabricated.
