I don't personally celebrate Diwali at my home, however, I have a friend who does and she remembers to bring me a gift every year and it is similar to the one you mentioned - it has home made Indian sweets and fruits and of course, a tiny diya

I don't live in India and I call the US home but the Indian community here celebrates all the festivals here, especially Diwali, in a big way
