Lots of writers don't have a niche and seem to be doing fine..

I have a niche but it comes under personal stories which is a big umbrella - it works for me because that is what interests me - also what I have noticed about boosts is that while they are awesome, those attract mostly one time readers who won't necessarily come back for more

That's why I think having a community is imp -
