… the road we pulled off into the jungle. I stripped and washed off in a swollen brown water stream. I was lucky not to encounter any water snakes or leaches that day. I tied my clothes to the top of the car, put on a pair of shorts, and “Samurai Sammy” went sputtering down the road looking like a reddish-brown meatball on wheels.
