It's great to read you Christine and this topic resonated with me - my father was so busy working (he is a doctor) - he would be on duty half the day and we had to be quiet when he came home so he could rest, sadly he missed most of my childhood celebrations because work called - when he retired and had lot of time on his hands to focus on his family - I am here in the US (very far from him) - my advice to parents is stop and smell the roses because before you know it kids will be all grown up and have flown the coop
