In South Africa where I grew up, there is a strong South Asian Muslim community (business ppl mostly) - while the women dress according to the latest fashion, their life and freedom are dictated by the men in their life - and they more often than not are married off very young (teens) so no chance of higher education even if they wanted to

Over here, it is more of a mixed bag with some women going the strictly traditional route while others are working - not sure how many are willing to break free and forge their own path because ultimately it may come down to that if one wants to live according to their own terms
