I write primarily on Medium so I am only able to answer your question in this context. If I chose to read only one quality article a month and only by my fave author, I don't see myself getting far ahead either exposure or engagement wise. As a writer, I support other writers and a lot of new writers so I guess what I'm saying is that I personally feel it is a 2 way street on this platform.
