I am an introvert who prefers reading to anything else - but my parents persuaded (there was no discussion) to pursue academics in a subject that they thought had a much better chance at getting a job than something creative (which I wanted) -oh well, I get to do what I want to do now (don't need to persuade be persuaded anymore) 😊
