I was once contacted by a Medium writer (from India, I think) on Twitter asking me if I could give my bank details and hold his Medium earnings for him (as a favor) while he figured out the logistics - I for the life of me cannot understand why he would assume that I would hand over my bank information to a complete stranger - in this era of scams and schemes you cannot really blame anyone for being skeptical
