I used my old iphone till its battery ran out of juice - then I upgraded during Covid - looks like several newer versions have appeared since then but I ain't looking - no FOMO whatsoever - I have a phone case and screen protector but that's a necessity or I'd be shellng out the big bucks if ever I drop the phone - they charge an arm and leg hereabouts
