I know for a fact that a lot of people returned their pets, obtained during Covid, once things came back to normal. The pet shelters were overflowing at one point - it was overwhelming and just sad -

Both my neighbors own doodles - I remember one of them had a different doodle for a few weeks but it didn't work out so they returned it back to the pet store and got the present one
