I think the same can be applied here - when I was starting out, some more experienced writers would stop by and encourage me, a couple of them offered to mentor me out of the kindness of their hearts (I had zero experience in writing) - I think that helped me a lot by boosting my confidence and I always try to do the same for new writers :)
