I think it is because my parents used to move around a lot for work that I stopped getting attached to things - I love books of course but it is very hard to move them (back then, at least) from country to country

Even now, I have a minimalistic -ish style of living - but I like it because I don't like a space crowded with things - just a few things, a couch, TV, a painting, a Christmas tree 🎄and a stack of books :)
