I personally think it's not about content anymore but how active you are - that seems to be what keeps you in the minds of the readers based on the current trend

Those who get readers excited when they publish are mainly the ones with already established readerships - as an editor I can attest to that based on the stats - it' very difficult otherwise and that's the reality unfortunately (my 2 cents)
