I lived in Manhattan once upon a time - so am familiar with the the subways there (creepy, noisy and claustrophobic are the words that come to mind) - I prefer the ones hereabouts although they break down pretty often - my friend carries an electric scooter just in case

So, as you surmised, I am not really a big fan - but hey, what can you do to get around in the city?
