I heard about the movie you mentioned and it spiked my curiosity - I am a fan of period dramas (books and movies) and I thoroughly enjoyed Keira Knightly in Pride & Prejudice as well as Kate Winslet in Sense & Sensibility -however I couldn't digest the 2006 Marie Antoinette movie after watching Norma Shearer -

I guess it comes down to taste but yes this one seems to be focus on too many things at the same time
