I have heard about this - since then I make sure to read to the end and try to avoid embedding too many links at the bottom of the post - but sometimes I do that when promoting other writers - oh… - Yana Bostongirl

In order to trigger a read, your audience needs to scroll all the way to the very bottom of the page. If you have a large footer, it is possible that your reader will not scroll all the way past that to trigger the read.
