I grew up in Africa, so I know what you mean...I wish I could say my culture is much diff - it's not - however things are changing as more girls are getting educated and becoming independent

That's a good thing imo - financial independence can give a woman freedom to do what she wants like marrying when she feels the time is right

I still remember someone from the home country trying to get her daughter married off in the late teens (because she felt the older the girl got the bones got too ripe - whatever that means) - such backward thinking 🙄
