I don't think there is anything wrong with celebrating each hard won milestone. And I would say don't put me in the same league as the "Top Writers" on Medium. I am me and this is how I do my thing. If you(meaning the commenter or hater) want to be the next Tim Denning or whatever, you are welcome to it and may the odds be in your favor
