I could relate to a lot of things you said because it almost feels like you gave voice to my thoughts about how I feel about someone from my past - I don't know whether it is human nature to elevate a former love (that had tremendous potential albeit was short lived) onto a pedestal - over time every thing about them seems perfect because they are the one that got away (at least for me)

You hit it out of the ball park with this one - love stories are the best and you have written it with such great thought, sensitivity, tenderness...and yes, empathy. My new fave by you 💙
