An hour and a half after they had landed, my son-in-law texted me they had cleared customs. An hour after that, my daughter texted they were at her father’s house, and then she sent me the video they promised, of the first meeting. There’s very little footage of her hugging her father, but those seconds I witnessed from thousands of miles away warmed my heart.
