I am no expert on this topic and don't think I have an opinion - I am a non vegetarian but at the same time eat very little meat products due to a health issue - surprisingly I don't know any Buddhists so this discussion has never arisen - also the Sri Lankan family I am friends with are Christians and eat a lot of non veg so...
