Over here I have heard that many places hire you on a parttime basis so as not to give you the benefits of a full time job - so ppl have to work sometimes 2-3 jobs - and no there is universal health care and private insurance can be very expensive - so that is a big problem too

At the end of the day, it is a compromise too
