I am a non native English speaker and it did take a while for me to master American speak - so to speak :)

I think you make a great point when you say it is a good idea for someone else to go over the submission before hitting publish. I guess many are not aware of this as they may feel they are coming across clearly but that need not be the case. Anyways, I can also ask the same from native English speakers because sometimes I have a hard time discerning what they are trying to say because the writing is so disorganized.
