From (my) cultural perspective, grandparents, especially grandmoms are expected to take care of their grandchildren especially when they're young - I think such things shouldn't be forced - it is up to them if they want to do it or not - but somehow they are made to feel guilty or something's wrong with them if they chose not to (sometimes by their own kids) - it's very strange
