Dear Claire,

Today 
I see 
my pictures
divide twice,
x-ray negatives blend my past
into filmstrips of present day,
and my name typed in
sterile font,
wilts into a fade by
weathered hands that hold me
folded inside binds
of moldy files — 
I am marked with time,
powerless to a parade of shallow lines
and forced charades 
of shine.
