Communication is key. Chemistry provides the initial spark but that can run out at any time...I agree a long lasting relationship depends on compatibility and shared values otherwise it can be an uphill struggle. Most of all both parties must be willing to invest in it because a relationship with no room for growth...doesn't look like a happy one to say the least.
