Coming from a culture where mental health, especially with regard to women is woefully scarce, I didn't know much about anything regarding that or psychology in general - I would say it has been only in recent years I have been delving into it - reading helps a lot as it exposed me to new concepts and terminology - I also belong to both a support group and go to therapy - overall I'd say it has been beneficial - do you know what is even more helpful? Reading about other people's experiences which gets me thinking - it also helps me uncover things that need addressing and unpacking on my own - so yes, the last few years have been quite the ride
