Being exposed to such things at such a young age can really mess with the way kids perception - and that is not healthy at all...

I kind of feel a lot is to do with a lack of conversation between kids and parents. For example, in my culture discussion of certain topics are considered taboo and check this one - it is perfectly okay for boys/men to view porn as they are well boys/men and thus entitled to, perhaps?
