As a Volunteer companion at an old age facility , I know for a fact that old age is not what you see in the fancy adverts on TV. It is lonely and add in the myriad health issues including dementia and it makes for very unhappy and miserable ppl. It helps if your family houses you in a nice old age home or you can afford to stay at your own home with constant care but at then end of the day, it can be quite scary and isolating -
