And so, in the summer of 2011, a close friend and I undertook a trip across Russia on the train to get to some of these places. It has not since been equalled as a travel adventure for me. It is a train trip that is commonly known as the Trans Siberian Express, but for us, it was a series of five different trains, purchased on five different tickets.
