Sometimes you meet someone by chance, totally unexpected, minus the nosey matchmakers and dating apps that have become a tedious merry-go-round that you sit on just cuz you paid for the ride.
And it’s so refreshing!
It happened to me on my first day on the job as an editor for a certain pub that accepts memoirs only. If you asked me why I picked this particular writer’s post (let’s call him N for now) to edit out of all those that were in the queue, I have no answers except to say that I was powerfully and inexplicably drawn to his name.
And I also had this strange feeling, akin to deja vu, that I knew him from somewhere even though I’d never read him before.
And surprisingly enough, I was not disappointed.
Perhaps it is because he speaks of things I have experienced but I think it has to do with the way he expresses his feelings — not to sound corny but sounds exactly as how I would describe my emotions, setting, vibe, and unanswered questions post break up.
How can that be?
