I guess it depends on the writers goals too because I have received some comments whereby the other writer only doles out one clap because they are too busy grading the article ( they are fine with receiving one clap too but I don't think they know how algo works- I'm sure they will figure it out in due time) - Medium is an engagement platform - you have to engage, support and be reciprocal here -
